Not all screens are interchangeable even same Make and Models can have problems. What is the make of the screen tablet you used to replace on your broken one? It may have some issues with size or your tablet may have been damage when you cracked the orginal screen.
Try if you dare flipping it 180 degrees around to see if it fixes the issue.

When my nook does this, I fix it by doing a hard shut down. Hold the power button down until the device shuts off. Wait a few seconds and restart. The one time that didn't work, I had to reset and deregister to basically go back to a new out of box condition. Just make sure you have everything backed up if you decide to go that route.

Sounds like the screen could have gone or the motherboard has something to do with it, try opening it up but be careful just to make sure everything is intact

If it doesn't work after being reset or turned off and on, I think it's time to go to curry & pc world to get it fixed, I did that with my Disgo 9000 and they said they had many problems with them in the past and that they don't sell them anymore, the man then said that we can go and find a different tablet for the same price and they will switch everything over, no money needed, especially if you got the norton on the tablet they give you it free of charge, I now have a Lenovo 9" tablet.

Try installing service pack 3 from windows & reinstall the sound driver again this may help you

Doesn't sound like a GPU as the external works . Could be screen or flex cable maybe ?
