Blue & green star like spots on Panasonic rear projection LCD TV

What causes about 4 nova, star-like spots, blue and green, on the screen of Panasonic PT-61LCX65 rear projection LCD tv? Most noticeable with light backgrounds. Gradually have increased from one to four over a year since replacing the lamp.

Yes, it appears on all channels, HD and digital (no analog channels now) as well as when I play DVDs. They are stationary and do not move. Incidentally, there are five now.

Do you get this on every hd channel?

The EEPROM needs to be reprogrammed. You should contact Panasonic customer care as they may fix this at no charge to you.

Call panasonic. They have a Tech service Bulletin that adresses this problem. They will only sell the customer the device that fixes this problem and they will quiz you to make sure it will fix it before they sell it to you.

MODEL # PT-52LCX15. GREEN AND BLUE SPOT ON SCREEN.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. You can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/PANASONIC-521A2C52-p/1177904.htm Have a blessed one!

My Sony Grand Wega LCD TV currently has a large blue spot on the left side of the screen when powered on. I have changed the lamp, but this did not solve the problem. Could this be caused by bad component...

Hi,
I'm afraid, it is problem of optics unit block (light engine), there are 3 LCDs red-green-blue for color picture formation and blue LCD sounds bad, please call local TV tech for fix.
Thanks.

TV issue

There are many causes for spots on top of an LCD rear projection tv, you are probably in the first two cases, both require part replacements and repair job.

If the spots are faint blue, green or pink shadows, then it can be a problem with the anti polarization panel placed on top of the LCD.

Similar spots (colored shadows) may be caused by a problem with the light engine, in that case the fix will be expensive.

If the spots are bright lights, like an aura, that is a problem with the color wheel.

Problems on the light tunnel can cause static gray shadows.

If the spots are static dark stains than that is lcd liquid, the LCD panel must be replaced.
