Since the release of the latest Surface revs, problems are continuing to be reported where the Surface will boot into a screen that requests the BitLocker Recovery Key before it can continue. This issue was also reported with the first revision of Surface devices, however, it was not as widely reported as it is now.
This result can be caused by a wide range of things such as corrupted drivers or Windows Updates not able to install successfully. Whatever the reason, you'd like to be able to get past the BitLocker Recovery Key request screen, but have no idea how to locate this extremely long number.
Luckily, Microsoft stores this number for you in the Cloud. Using a working computer connected to the Internet, just jump out to the following link and ensure you are logged in with your Microsoft account.
https://skydrive.live.com/recoverykey
When you access this link, you'll something similar to below, except yours will contain the actual Key ID and abnormally long Recovery Key number.

The BitLocker Recovery Key is intended to add an additional level of security, ensuring that only the authorized owner of the Surface can unlock the device and restore access. Unfortunately, if you can't find your key, or your key does not display on the Microsoft account page, you'll need to restore the Surface to factory default settings, i.e., start over.

Clickn kids tablet has no volume buttons? It was set up by a dear friend who recently passed & the pin for parent access is lost. How can I hard reset the clickn kids tablet model CKP774-RD??

Next to the home button on the bottom of the device is the reset button. Using something thin and long like a paper clip, push the reset button.

I am trying to charge a kindle fire for kids, before I give it to my grandchildren as a Christmas gift, nothing is happening when I plug in the charger

Not familiar with this but it should have a light next to the charge port. Yellow needs charging, green charged. If you get nothing try another cord. If still the same contact Amazon. Amazon. com, click on "Your account", choose Your account at top of page. On far right of page find Kindle help home. On left of next page click contact us. Leave a message and ask for phone call. They will call back soon as possible. I'm sorry to say it could be a faulty device but Amazon help desk will have the answers for you.

Does anyone know how to reset my kids Click N Kids tablet?

Hard reset or soft reset? Softreset, push a pin into the reset hole on the back or side. Hard reset, hold down vol- and power until the reset screen appears.

I would check out this web site: www.curtisint.com, and specifically this page: http://www.curtisint.com/support/manuals.asp?category=&subCat=&catName=&p=10, which have manuals. You may need to look closer at your exact model number. This should give you a great start.

Is the hot iPad a problem? Should I give to my kids?

This has been debated many times. Many feel that the new iPad's heat is a problem, while many others think it is the media blowing it out of proportion. The majority of FixYa Experts feel the answer is somewhere in the middle as it definitely does run hotter than the iPad 2 but does not run as hot as some laptops.
So I would say it is a problem but not one that should keep you from buying for yourself to use.
But, I would be careful giving it to your kids. Make sure to monitor them when they are using it. Children's skin is much more sensitive than adults. Be a good parent and like everything be close to your kids when they are using the device.
If you do that, playing with the new iPad should not be a problem for your kids.
