Download the latest firmware to your laptop.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the laptop to one of the "wired" ports on the router.
Connect to the router's web-server interface.
Click into "settings" to find the screen that lets you update the firmware.
Select the downloaded file, and do the update.
Reboot the router.

Performing IP Reset from the phone user interface see 2.1.4 IP Reset restores the basic network settings
made through phone user interface programming or Web user interface programming to their factory defaults.
If the unit is unable to connect to the network after changing network settings, you can restore the network
settings to their factory defaults by performing IP Reset, and then try configuring the settings again. Settings
such as the phonebook data, are not cleared by this feature.
The following settings will be reset to their factory defaults:
• DHCP setting restored to DHCP on
• Settings related to static IP addressing (the values for static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway,
DNS1, and DNS2 are cleared)
• DNS settings for DHCP connection (cleared)
• PHY settings (speed and duplex mode of the either LAN or PC port are restored to "automatic")
• VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) settings (disabled)
• Terminal number settings (restored to "automatic")

After performing IP Reset, the unit will restart automatically. To avoid problems, it is recommended that
you save your settings before performing IP Reset.

If these settings (with the exception of PHY settings and terminal number settings) were made through
Web user interface programming, the set values made through Web user interface programming
remain effective, even if you perform IP Reset. To reset these settings to their factory defaults, perform
Reset Web Settings from the Web user interface again.

Resetting the Settings Made through the Web User Interface

Performing Reset Web Settings from the Web user interface see Reset to Defaults) resets the
settings made through the Web user interface to their default values.
When you use this feature, the unit will return to the status just after performing the most recent provisioning
or pre-provisioning.

After performing Reset Web Settings, the base unit will restart automatically. To avoid problems, it is
recommended that you save your settings before performing Reset Web Settings.

The settings configured through the phone user interface only will not be reset. However, settings that
can be configured through both the phone user interface and Web user interface will be reset.
1.2.2 Firmware Update
You can update the unit's firmware to improve the unit's operation. You can configure the unit so that it
automatically downloads the new firmware file from a specified location. The firmware update will be executed
when the unit is restarted.

Hi,
First thing I would do if you haven't already is update to the latest firmware. follow the link below and choose the correct model/revision of the model you own from there you can download the latest firmware as well as the manual if you need it to view how to update the firmware. It is quite easy in the interface when logging into the router. If you need further assistance please let me know. With regards to your concern, I would advice you to perform a firmware update on your router.

Please verify the exact model number of your unit.
The firmware update should be done on the wired machine.
If your using a netgear router. It will perform an automatic update once you log on to the web interface. To log on to the web interface follow the instructions below

1.open internet browser
2. type in the address bar. http://routerlogin.com
3. Enter username as admin and password is password.
4. Once you log on., it will automatically search for available latest firmware. If the automatic update is not turn on. Just click on Firmware upgrade under Maintenance.
CLick on the button search for updated firmware. Once it found the firmware just proceed with the instructions. IF it didnt find any latest firmware. Visit http://netgear.com and select the model number and verision of your router from the drop down list.
Just click support and you will see a download tab which will show you the list of firmwares. Please choose the latest version.

Is it running slow on both wired and wireless connections? how about if a PC is wired directly to the modem? That will eliminate the router as the issue (slow internet could be your modem or the connection itself).

If you're sure it's the router (wireless and wired) then upgrading the firmware would be first step. You can download the latest firmware from linksys.com and get it installed via the web interface of the router (probably found by going to http://192.168.1.1).

If a firmware update doesn't do it you can change your DNS servers from being automatically detected from your ISP to public ones. This may help web pages load faster. You can enter them also using the web interface. Set the Primary and Secondary DNS address to the numbers below (they are from OpenDNS.com).

Unlock your Tesco DP450 IP Phone to use this with other VoIP providers.
Gigaset Communications have created a process that enables Tesco Internet Phone subscribers with Siemens Dual-Phone DP450 to unlock the phone from the Tesco Internet Phone service. This will enable the phone to be used with other Internet Telephone services. This follows the recent news that the Tesco Internet Phone service is to be ceased from April 26th, 2010.
This is an approved method for unlocking the Siemens Dual-Phone DP450 defined and released by Gigaset Communications, the original supplier of the phone to Tesco. If this procedure is not followed exactly your phone might not work anymore. In this case Gigaset Communications cannot accept any warranty claims.

Unlock procedure
Your Phone should have the latest released Tesco software version, else this unlock procedure will not work.

On your handset:
BASE > SETTINGS > SOFTWARE UPDATE
Select and press OK Enter the system PIN (0000) and press OK
The base station establishes a connection to the internet or a local PC.
YES Press the display key to start the firmware update. If no update is needed, this will be displayed.

To unlock the WEB interface of the DP450, you need to enter the following service code. Please use the exact code as is described below, else your phone will not work anymore.
SETTINGS > BASE 94762001 (Now "Eeprom" must be displayed)
Insert the following number sequence: 01778 06183 06191 Press OK to finish the programming. "Saved" must be displayed on the Handset.

Then release the phone to be able to upgrade it with the latest Retail firmware version.

Now insert this number sequence: 04850 04351 04864 Press OK to finish the programming. "Saved" must be displayed on the Handset.

After this procedure you can upgrade your phone to use the latest retail firmware version.

Your Phone is by default configured to use the Internet Telephone service, if you want to change this to set the default to the land line you need to change this in the web interface from your phone.
