Hi,
First of all check your tv remote is there is any button named "CC", if its then by pressing it you will be able to switch ON and OFF the CC option. If there No button named CC on the remote then it Go to the menu of the tv and fin the CC (closed caption) option and switch it OFF. www.electro-medical.blogspot.com
There should be an option in the Setup menu for CC (closed captioning) to turn it on and off. If it's already off, you're going to need a new Main board. (You might want to try updating the software first)
You're not doing anything wrong. Your TV is somehow turning the cc on "all by itself". Some bit is getting flipped inside the TV, turning the cc on.
either that or there is some sort of rf or ir interference near the TV that is mimicking the CC button on the remote.
Have you pressed the cc button on the remote, verified the cc is "off" on the TV and then removed the batteries from the remote for a while to make sure there isn't something hinky with the remote???
