You should never have to config email, those settings are automatic with static IP, unless you use a router with security, you give no values for subnet mask or default gateway you claim to have changed, Uninstall your email programe, restart computer, reinstal email and update, restart again, email should work off the internet settings without extra config settings, never heard of it being any other way, or go into dos, ipconfig/dnsflush and then go to iprenew, then try using email, CAN'T GIVE BETTER ANSWER WITHOUT KNOWING SOFTWARE AND OS AND WHY YOU HAD TO CHANGE THOSE SETTINGS..

How do I set up the ecb350 as a repeater. I have an xfinity wifi that doesn't reach the whole house but I can connect with an Ethernet cable to the back of the ECB350 out in the area I need wifi acce

What are you using for your main router (xfinity wifi)? The best way is to set the ecb350 in AP Router Mode not a repeater since you have a rj45 cable long enough to go from one of the ports on the xfinity wifi router and hook it into the ecb350. You will need to know what your ip address range is for example if the xfinity is 192.168.1.1 then you want to assign a static address for the ecb350 to be 192.168.1.100 (assigned IP Address) You will also need the Subnet mask, Default Gateway IP Address, and Primary DNS and Secondary DNS of the xfinity wifi router. Then on the ecb350 you will need to configure the following with the info you go off the xfinity router:

Static IP Internet Connection Type Select Static IP to begin configuration of the Static IP connection. Account Name Leave Blank Domain Name Leave Blank MTU Auto IP Address ie: 192.168.1.100 (assigned IP Address) IP Subnet Mask Specify the subnet mask of your Xfinity Router Gateway IP Address Specify the gateway of your Xfinity Router Primary DNS Specify the primary DNS server's IP address of your Xfinity Router Secondary DNS Specify the secondary DNS server's IP address of your Xfinity Router Discard Ping on WAN Check to Enable to recognize pings on the ECB350 WAN interface or Disable to block pings on the ECB350 WAN interface. Note: Pinging IP addresses is a common method used by hackers to test whether the IP address is valid. Blocking pings provides some extra security from hackers. Accept / Cancel Click Accept to confirm the changes or Cancel to cancel and return previous settings. Note: Clicking Accept does not apply the changes. To apply them, use Status > Save/Load Hope that this help you.

Can't connect to router interface 192.168.1.1

Took another look by fixing word wrapping in notepad.

It's missing DNS Servers. Check your NIC settings and make sure you don't have a DNS server manually set to another IP. Plus, you might try resetting the router to default in case there is a DNS modification there.

I'm not sure if this is the cause, but I couldn't hurt. It's part of trouble shooting.

Good Luck!

I have two user on my computer but on one i can get on the internet and on the other i cant it says change the proxy setting

once that's available.....

you can use different settings in in WinXP as below....

use the info obtained from the service provider.....
....then
in the IP address filed use some thing similar like this..(check your internet service provider for that info).....the foll is only an example from my PC
say....192.168.1.2 for user ONE

log out....
shut down and restart PC

Whentest ninten WI-FIconnneection get errorcode 52001

Error Code: 52001 It appears that your Wii console is unable to obtain an IP address from your wireless network. Our experience has shown that this error message is solved by performing a manual setup on the Wii. Please follow these steps:
The first thing you'll need to do is find out what IP address range you should be using. To do this:
  1. Click the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer.
  2. Next, you will need to access the command prompt. To do this:
    • Windows XP users click "Run."
    • Windows Vista and Windows 7 users click inside the search bar.
  3. Type "cmd" into the box and press Enter.
  4. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press Enter. The IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS servers of the PC will be displayed.
The IP address you are going to assign to the Wii must be 10 digits higher than the PC's. (e.g., 192.168.1.100 becomes 192.168.1.110). The Wii and PC must have different IP addresses.
Enter in the exact same values for your Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. They must be the same for your Wii and for your PC.
  1. Click here to go to our Wireless Router Configuration page.
  2. Use the drop-down box on the left to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
  3. Click on your router's model number, if available.
  4. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing the settings found in the Special Notes. Follow the instructions and test the connection.
You will now need to manually assign this new IP address to your Wii. For step-by-step instructions on how to do this on your Wii, please click here.

    No ip address

Network Card's driver is not installed. Check and install drivers from Device Manager Window.

IP Address can be assigned automatically(through APIPA/DHCP) or Manually.

    Automatic:
There is no DHCP server, it takes the Automatic Private IP address(APIPA) or else get it from DHCP server by using "ipconfig" command
    Steps: Start>accessories>command prompt>ipconfig /renew

    Manually:
Right click on My Network Places> Properties>Right click on Local Area connection>Properties>General Tab>select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)> Properties>General> select "Use the following IP address> assign IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS> Press OK Tab.
