SOURCE: Won't format new memory card
Your camera is not SDHC compatible. It will only support standard SD cards. Sorry.
I hope this helps.

there are six screws (#0 phillips) on the sides and the bottom that you have to remove, two per side. Open the battery compartment and remove batteries and leave door open. the front should slip off, you might have to use a small flat screw driver to help the sides seperate. now there are three screws that hold the function button together. with the button out you can remove the old shutter button by GENTLY pushing the two little blue tabs to toward the center and into their little holes. be careful that the button doesn't shoot out and watch out for the spring. reassemble in the reverse order.
SOURCE: Have a Kodak EasyShare C743, bought a SanDisk, won't format
Your camera was designed before the SDHC format came out. Sorry, your camera can only use standard SD cards, those usually 2GB or less. An SDHC card will not be recognized properly by your camera. If you really want to use a 4GB card, do a Google search for SD and "non hc", with the non hc in quotes. Believe that Transcend makes one.
