The beep you hear is a BIOS Beep Code.
One long continuous beep indicates DRAM error.
Ram Memory problem.
Have you upgraded, or changed any Ram Memory module/s, lately?
(Ram memory module = ram memory 'stick')
No? Just happened out of the blue?
Computer unplugged from power, computer case open, FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions.
Remove all ram memory modules from their slots.
Clean the gold plated contact pins on the bottom.
(Basic example of a DDR Sdram ram memory module.
It has 184 gold plated contact pins on the bottom. 92 on each side.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Generic_DDR_Memory_%28Xytram%29.jpgIf you are using DDR2 Sdram, it has 240 gold plated contact pins on the bottom. 120 on each side.
The above example is just to show you the gold plated contact pins )
Handle the ram memory module by the BODY. The body is everywhere on the ram memory module, except the gold plated contact pins on the bottom.
The body is coated with a see-through protective plastic.
Refrain from touching the gold plated contact pins.
Use a pencil eraser to clean the contact pins. BOTH sides.
Rub the eraser up, and down on each contact pin. Doesn't take much to clean them.
Use air to remove the eraser dust. You can use a can of compressed air for computers, if available, or air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.
If the can of air is available, use it on the ram memory slots, also.
Reinstall all ram memory modules. Make SURE they are well seated in their slots. The Locking 'ears' on the sides of the slot, will be engaged with the Side Notches, on the sides of the ram memory module.
[Note*
The Locks on the sides of the ram memory slot, do not FULLY engage all the way into the Side Notches, of the ram memory module. When the Locks are fully engaged, you will hear a click, as they go in ]
Perform this procedure, then post back in a Comment as to your findings.
