Either the fan blade is loose or the mount is loose, or the outside of the heater has been damaged/dented and hitting the blade. Leaving the top piece off is only an option if there are no pets or children around.

Hi,
The position of the fan is very critical to proper operation. The pressure is also very critical and if you replaced the fan you will also now have to check and adjust the pressure.
This shows how to replace the rotor.

This shows how to check and set your pressure.

I also have wrote a tip that kind of summarizes everything.

Take your time and go through every step and you will get your heater back up and running again.

Clean your nozzel, check your fuel & air lines, you may need to replace Spark plug and filters. You can go to the manufacturers website at www.desatech.com and they offer service manuals. I hope this helps you!

SOURCE: Reddy Heater 55,000 has trouble igniting with top half attached

I'm assuming you mean the protective cover on the top of the unit? If so pull the back off the unit. Replace the filter. Buy a test gauge at www.reddyparts.com and set the pressure to 3.5 psi and I think your unit will run fine.Let me know how you make out.

SOURCE: I also have a reddy heater 115000 btu fan spins

Make sure the all the fins (4 of them) are in the right way. I think they are longer on one side than the other. You may need to remove the black rotor and make sure the plastic insert isn't broken and check for build up on the plate behind it and the plate that you have already removed. Do not loosen the metal ring around it unless you have some feeler guages to reset the gap between the ring and the black rotor. The only thing that holds the black rotor on the shaft is the plastic insert. There also isn't very much clearance between the black rotor and the plates that is sandwiched between so it doesn't take much build up on either surface to cause a problem. One more thing, do you have the foam input filter air installed. Without it, the compressor will **** in dust, dirt or what have you and that will cause buildup around the rotor. It will also cause the rotor to break if it gets tight enough.

Did they over fill the tank and you are getting pure liquid to the heater..... Sounds like when you use a propane bottle hand torch and tip it up side down the flame turns orange and goes out. Also the regulator vent may have gotten plugged with dirt or ice. May try and bleed some of the propane pressure off of the top of the tank....... But make sure you have it outside and plenty of ventaltion and no open flame any where...... Propane is lighter than air so it settles down on the ground at the lowest point.....hope this helps..... Or you could take it back to your suppler and get a different tank.

Heater will only work with top on. will not fire up with top on. when running with top off, will shut off when top is replaced

The fuel maybe contaminated,or you need some anti-gel additive to add to the fuel.Check the intake filter in the back, near the pump plate.

I can't get my reddy heater to light. No fuel

If there is NO fuel then the pump rotor is probably broken. http://www.reddyparts.com/rotor%20replacement.htm

If there is SOME fuel then set the air pump pressure. http://www.reddyparts.com/pressure.htm
