Question about Canon PIXMA MG5420 Inkjet Photo All-in-One

Steps to solve canon printer 1403 error code-
1. Remove the ink cartridges directly from the print head section, then open the printer and wait a few minutes for the carriage to slide.
2. Users are asked to use cotton swabs in hot water and should be used for thorough cleaning of their printheads. This can be done using a blend of hot water and isopropyl alcohol. Every ink cartridge should also be completely cleaned from deep within, with all its electronic contacts.
3. Repeat this step until all the ink residues on a cotton swab are completely cleaned off.
4. Once done, wait until the cartridges are dried and replace them and check whether the problem still exists or not.

Try removing cartridge, turning printer off/on and installing the cartridge back in. Try this couple of times and if it doesn't work, replace the cartridge.1403 indicates 'not recognised' cartridge and there is no way to reset this condition.
