Hello, I dropped my PS3 and now it won't power on. The PS3 worked perfectly fine before this. I opened it up and I can hear a noise coming from the power supply when I attempt to turn it on. The capacitors on the power supply appear to be bulging. Could the force of the drop cause the capacitors to bulge? The PS3 was not plugged in when it fell. Thanks.
Go to gamestop, buy a PS3 and go home, put the broke PS3 in the box, and return it to gamestop sometime after but dont wait to long. And have your mom/dad go back in gamestop and say they meant to get a PS4. Worked for me.
-falls down to knees and cries- T-this is just horrible im so sorry! I did that once and it stopped working, had to get rid of it and get a new one because the motherboard was damaged. I was told to check the power button ribbon cables and sadly it was a no go.
If you dropped it and it won't power up now check the power button ribbon cables. If they are seated properly then you damaged the motherboard and you will need to replace the ps3. Don't drop them as they are fragile.

This could be hardware related... the disk drive just might be failing you.
