All of a sudden My Samsung Smart TV Model # UN40F6300AF keeps turning on an off on it's own. I've seen many other people with the same defect. I bought it in Dec 2013. Does Samsung stand by a defect like this or are we out of luck?
Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

The problem I had seemed to be something with the electronics within the tv. I thought this because the t.v would come on SOMEtimes so I immediately crossed off the list the possibility of it being a bad bulb. Apparently these bulbs do not just burn out like a normal bulb they "go bad" allowing them to work partially. I ended up biting the bullet and taking it to a repair shop. $350.00 later it was fixed, if it happens again I'll buy a bulb online and try it before taking it in. I hope this answers your question and saves you a little cash.

To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem

You maybe lucky, but make sure the mounting holes on the stand matches your TV.
Alternately you can use a wall mounting and these have mounting holes that suit most TVs.
