if the screen keeps showing e06 device is in safeguard mode """"please remove or reattach the battery""""" If the error continues, please understand that it is a FAULTY BATTERY. This error is very common and results when the battery life has been changed or altered due to time elapsing. There is not a lot that can be done except to request a new battery. I performed more research on this and found that an equivilent may be purchased directly from jvc.com for a fraction of the costs then replacing the entire unit.
"JVC notes that you are also given a malfunction code when the unit is placed into safeguard. If it displays code 01, 02, or 06 you should remove the battery and powersupply and wait for a while. Code 03 and 04 indicate that you should eject and reinsert the tape.
If neither of these solutions work, your only alternative is to bring it to a shop or send it to JVC for diagnosis or repair. Unfortunately, there is no other way to clear the condition."
If you are getting E03 or E04 errors on every tape you try, it sounds like a servicing is required.
Do you happen to try with another tape? if so, it needs repair, mostlikely the capstan motor need to change and it needs hinger skill to do this, since you have to adjust it after replacing.
Unfortunately this is a repair issue. There are several failures that can occur, none of which will be resolved without service, that create this safeguard situation. Often the fpc cable which carries sensor information to the micro has been injured and that requires repair.
Good luck,
