If you monitor has a sound input, connect the cable to your computer. Open the computer sound control and select the monitor speakers (it may be the headphone output for your computer). You do not want to have the computer speaker selected.

Hello Janine

Of course, if your particular monitor provide sound, (integrated) or the monitor has speakers, you can.
but if in the HUD menu, or visually you wont see any speakers, I fear not.

My HP w22 Monitor started to make a crackling sound and than all the sudden turned off, or something. It wont come back on. The computer works just not the monitor. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Try checking your Cable connections to the Monitor to the Computer and from the Monitor to the wall outlet. The crackling sound maybe normal. Most Monitors make that sound.

How do i get the sound to work?

Sound has to be connected to the monitor. Plug the audio cable from the monitor into the green audio jack on the computer at the back. Make sure the sound is configured for stereo and not 7 channel surround. Turn up the volume on the monitor(if there is a control) and turn up the volume on the computer.

Bright, thin line, in the middle of the screen, then...

1. I turn on the monitor, I hear a 'cracklin' sound
Reply: In a CRT Monitor there is a component called EHT which generates High voltage which is connected to the anode of the CRT, If there is any leakage due to moisture can cause this crackiling sound, You need to clean this high tension wire or replace the EHT ( CAUTION : BE AWARE OF HIGH VOLTAGES )

2. The screen only shows a bright, thin line.
Reply: The vertical Drive section of the monitor is faulty.
