Hi Les, it's Jack at Dyson.

The end of the charger cord assembly which attaches to the machine itself is held in place securely by a friction-fit connection. You should be able to use something like a flat-bladed screwdriver to free the end of the charger cord from the docking station. Then with the docking station removed from the wall, you should be able to disconnect the charger cord completely from the rear of the dock, following the route shown in the image below:

How do you mount Dyson to wall

Using Ceiling & Floor Brackets, along with a 2' x 4' timber beam, will let you mount the Dyson cordless easily and without damage to the wall. (For tenants this is great)

The brackets are secured to the floor and ceiling, not the wall, so there is no damage or no holes in the wall - great for rentals.

The docking station is secured/screwed into the 2' x 4' timber beam.

It's easy to install and repositioned.

It can be removed easily without damage.

Can I charge the Dyson V8 without the wall mount therefore, by laying on its side? No wall space available.

Yes. The plug clips into the wall bracket and if you remove it you can use the charger just like any other. Alternatively just rest the V8 in the wall mounting bracket on the floor. I had no wall space either. I screwed my V8 to the back of the airing cupboard door.

Drop down flap has come off how do i replace it

Hi Mark, it's Jack at Dyson.

The bin base on Dyson cordless vacuums is a push-fit part. The two taps on the hinge attached to the base fit into the two corresponding indents on the main section of the clear bin.

If you'd like further guidance on refitting the base, or if you'd prefer to order a replacement bin assembly, just give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

How to fit wall bracket

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

When installing DC59's docking station, use appropriate hardware/fixings for your wall type and ensure that the dock is mounted securely. Ensure no pipe work (gas, water, air) or electrical cables, wires or duct work are located directly behind the drilling area. The dock must be mounted in accordance with all local laws and regulations and applicable codes and standards. Dyson recommends the use of protective clothing, eye ware and materials as necessary.

The charger cord assembly attaches to the docking station as shown below:

Dc 25 dyson

Hi Karen, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC25's brush bar. It sounds like the removable end cap may not be fitted or locked in place correctly.

If you turn the machine over, you should see a small silver catch which can be turned using the edge of a coin. Please make sure this is turned to face the small padlock icon, to lock the end cap to the cleaner head securely. The removal and replacement of the end cap is shown in the video attached.

This should resolve the issue, but if you do need further advice, please get in touch with us directly. Our experts can confirm if we're able to help under the terms of our 5-year guarantee. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Best wishes,

Dyson dc23 canister rug attachment loses power after about 5 seconds, push red button and restarts for less time. After 3 or 4 trys of it working for seconds it just doesn't turn on again. Reall

Hi Elizabeth, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm glad to hear you've been in touch already and we're able to resolve the issue under your machine's 5-year guarantee.

In most cases, the issue you've described will be caused by something jamming the brush bar. It can usually be resolved by clearing the brush bar of any debris, threads or hair, and checking the Motorhead for any obstructions, as shown in the video below.

If you'd like further help and advice with your machine at any point, please get in touch with us.

Best wishes,

My dyson will not power up, it shorted out at the wall, socket sparked.

Common problem is a break in the wire where it enters machine, caused by accidently stepping on cable when using vacuum. You need to gain access and cut and discard about 3-4 inches from cable end and re-attach, a bit of a fiddly task but won't cost you much. Tools required: Torx 6 and a small crosshead screw driver, wire cutters/strippers, insulation tape. Basic electrical experience (if you can wire a plug correctly you can do this!)
