Ive just bought a 22 inch lg tv, tuned in ok but remote is now not working, wont do anything, wont even put tv in standby mode. Any ideas?

Now The remote gets broken which was given along with the TV.. Now I bought a remote for tat model that name is LRIPL... Generally the power button has to be on first to put the TV in standby mode. If you cant do this no remote can ever work. Remotes are not capable of turning on a set that has no power mechanically turned off. and that is what the master switch does. once that standby light is off it is not live and consuming power and not under the control of a remote anymore

I had the same problem with the same unit when I first bought it a few months ago.

First up remove the DVD. If the TV stations do not appear within a couple of seconds press the "TV" button (top, second from left) on your remote control.

Let me know if this doesn't work.

On my Akai LCT2715---- Ok, I had the same problem with locating USER MODE (even called Akai service HELP and that person didn't know anything)!!! even tho we looked through manual just got TV back from putting $184 in Capacitors repair (PUT IN NEW NICHICON CAPACITORS) from the standby button not woking just flashing from the Power Supply gone bad plus 2 main capacitors other than power supply that were bad. Works great now. For the USER MODE look on the remote in the bottom black area repeatedly push the P.MODE. You should have full function to adjust all in menu list WE DID.
