I bought an ipad 4 second hand, however i cant sign in with my icloud as the previous owners icloud needs to be activated and i cannot contact the seller. any suggestions?

Contact apple help line they will assist in unlocking

Your apple ID is normally your email and use the FORGOT PASSWORD line they will send a reset to your backup number or email address

Hey! sorry but you will need to enter that appleID password to reactive the iPad. If you still have the original receipt you can call apple and have them start the recovery process.

plug it into a laptop/pc with itunes on . itunes will detect it and you can do a reset from there . if you got the ipad 2nd hand you might need an icloud account and pass word from previous owner or get them to take the ipad off there icloud account.

Go to the settings icon - then go down till you see iCloud and iTunes and Appstore. You need to go to both and sign out of them. You might need to enter the password of the former itunes holder.


If you cant get with that you can reset it with the iTunes

Put ipad back to default settings. Settings menu--This will erase everything on the iPad so you can start as a new user. It will erase original users saved info so you can input yours

You can try this: Go to Settings. Under Settings, scroll down to General. Click on that. Under General, scroll down to Reset. Click on that. That will open several lines of choices. The second one is "Erase all content and settings" - however, I have not ever tried this, so it's possible you will need the previous owner's Apple ID and password to complete this step. I would suspect you will, because Apple is very serious about security. So you may need to either contact the owner and get the ID and password, or your other option, as you said, is factory reset, which may be your only way out.
