You are on the right track. A postal code is like a zip code, but the term generally is used as a reference to an international address (outside the U.S.). The issue may be your format. HongKong does not have any Zip code or postal code. Only China has postal code. Hong Kong and Macau, which have their own postal systems. If you need to fill up an addresses just leave it blank or just put HK or XXXXXXXX on it. Just put the complete address without any post/zipe code.
