Back in the old days of dot matrix printers, there was a button labelled "online / offline". Essentially, it paused communications between printer and computer, so the user could change paper, change ribbon, clear paper jams, etc. The printer would go offline by itself if it ran out of paper, ink, or sensed a jam.
When Windows came along (with spooling and printing in the background), it was convenient to pause the printer from the computer terminal.
If your printer appears to be ready, and not 'offline', then check and see if your operating system has suspended printing for some reason.
Kill the print job on the computer and to reset the printer, unplug it from the mains for a few seconds. Then try again.
Check your settings , & unpause it !
You should see a pop-up menu and the option to "Reset printing system...". Once you select the option, the OS will restore the CUPS printing system back to its original default settings. NOTE: This will, of course, erase all of your print queues.
Then add a print queue manually: http://bit.ly/SxD5Za
Hi,
According to your problem, first check the printer settings. Go to the Printer and faxes wizard in control panel. Right click on printer, if you fond there Resume printing then click on it. It will make printer working. Then reboot the printer and the system both. If it doesn't help you then there is the problem of printer software. Reinstall printer driver/ software again and reboot the both.
