Dewalt 18v XRP Problem Powerline

I have one XRP battery that shows Problem Powerline in all three of my charges. All my other batteries charge fine except this one.

It sounds like you have a defective battery. I would suggest contacting one of our Factory Service Center's to see if your battery is still within warranty. Please see the link provided. You can also give as a call at 1-800-4DEWALT. DEWALT com

Yes, when a battery is being used for a long time, you need to let it cool down and take it to charged. Although there is many fast charger now, but in order to protect the battery, I recommend you to buy a second battery for replace.

My dewalt 18v xrp battery wont take a charge

Depending on how old or more to the point how many times you have already charged the battery, it may be worn out. All rechargeable batteries do reach a point where they won't charge up anymore. If you have fully discharged the battery and tried to fully charge it up again and it won't take a charge or only lasts a few minutes on a charge it may be time to recycle it and buy a new one.

normally they carry little bit of charge but its alwys good to charge b4 u use them .. good way to check the battery charge is either there will be a battery meter on the battery like 5 leds on it or alternatively u do to bios of a laptop and check for battery meter

if the battery are less than a yr old should be a warranty
if drill DC920 or DC925 they are on recall for switch. may be co'z the battery to die. have them check at ur nearest service center.
