You will need to see if the battery has charged.
If the battery was completely drained and your laptop went off ...then thing like this can happen.
In that case keep it charging for one day and then try to turn it on.
if that does not help find an HP service centre or a computer technician near you.

Try this solution :
1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
Note : Please see that there are no external devices or cables connected to the Notebook.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now.
5. Turn on the Notebook.
Additionally, try removing and reinserting the RAM sticks by following the instructions listed in page number 119 of 266 :

If the issue repeats, try connecting the Notebook to any Desktop Monitor and press the FN and F4 key so that the display will transfer to the desktop monitor connected.
If there is no display on the LCD of the Notebook or on the Desktop monitor connected, issue can either be with the Graphic Card of the Notebook or Motherboard itself.
I am sure these instructions are helpful.

Hook up your power adaptor to ac power without it being hooked up to the laptop and see if the green light stays on. If it does then you know your adaptor is okay. if your adaptor is only hooked up to ac power and the green light still turns off then you know your ac adaptor is bad.
Take out the battery from your laptop. Now hook up the ac adaptor to the laptop and if it stays green then you know your battery is bad but you also want to make sure you can get your laptop to turn on. Hopefully it will turn on with only the ac adaptor hooked up to it.
