How do I get a user manual for my Acer desk top aspire ax3400g,free?

Page 18 of the manual, you shouldn't need to do steps 2 or 3.

CONNECTING A COMPONENT SOURCE WITH HDMI or DVI CAPABILITY TO INPUT 1 or INPUT 2
1.Connect the HDMI or DVI to HDMI connection cable from the output of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the HDMI input as shown on the AVC Center below.
2.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT R of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/R) jack.
3.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT L of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/L) jack.
4.Press the INPUTS button, then select INPUTS 1 or 2 to view the program from the HDTV set top box or DVD player. The VIDEO OSD label disappears automatically after approximately four seconds.
5.Select ANT A or B from the INPUTS menu to return to the previous channel.
NOTES:1. Completely insert the connection cord plugs when connecting to rear panel jacks. The picture and sound that is played back will be abnormal if the connection is loose.
2. The HDMI input on INPUT 1 or 2 contains the copy protection system called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). HDCP is a cryptographic system that encrypts video signals when using HDMI connections to prevent ******* copying of video contents.
3.HDMI is not a "NETWORK" technology. It establishes a one-way point-to-point connection for delivery of uncompressed video to a display.
4.The connected digital output device controls the HDMI interface so proper set-up of device user settings determines final video appearance.

Your TV has both analog and digital sound output jacks. You will need to connect to an audio amplifier/speaker system that can use either of these types of audio signals. Consult your TV user manual for more info.

For a standard VCR which is what most people have, all you need to do is connect a yellow RCA cable for video from the yellow output jack on the cable box rear panel to the VCR's yellow video input jack on its rear panel. Next connect a white RCA audio cable from the cable box white RCA output jack to the VCRs white RCA audio input jack. You can record a cable show by selecting the LINE input on the VCR and selecting the TV show on the cable box.

Now for playback, connect the VCR to your TV. Connect a yellow video cable from the VCR's yellow output jack to the TV's yellow video input jack. Same for the white audio connection. Select on the TV, the source input for the VCR. Its not complicated and you should not need any other devices for a standard setup with a digital cable box and vcr.

Look on the front edge of the laptop, you will see what appears to be two clear looking buttons, the button to the left of the audio jacks is your wireless switch, the button to the left of that is your bluetooth switch. Unfortunately, DVI doesn't support audio. Your headphone output may work if you have a PC audio input on the TV. However, you might need to change the audio output on the Acer 6290G. It is probably defaulting to using the HDMI audio output.

Go to the Control Panel (click on Start). Select the Hardware and Sounds section. In Sounds, look for Manage Audio Devices. Change the Default Audio Device to a different Audio device (look for Output in the description). Note: you may need to turn off the computer and TV and turn them both on for the headphone jack cable to be identified.

If this doesn't work, check the manual for the TV. It might only have the PC audio connection available for a VGA port. Please add a comment with the TV model, if you need assistance with this step. Make sure that you aren't connecting the headphone out of the 6920G to a headphone out on the TV.

If your TV has RCA jacks on the back or front. Input type. Then you can go to radio shack and get a vga cable to RCA jack converter. That is all you can do. Is the TV a flat screen if yes then you can hook up you pc with a monitor cable like your usine now in your house. Find out the type of TV.. Ask someone to check the tv for a computer port on the back.

Check out above under "Multi-media", you have (4th bullet and 7th bullet) 'audio input and output jacks' + '2 stereo speakers & subwoofer'.

Might want to tell a good service center about that sound issue since
a NO SOUND problem might indicate not only 'bad stereo speakers' but
since you have a sub-woofer, that circuit might have blown (along with significant parts of your output audio).
