I have a 1.5 yr old Fisher Paykel ecosmart washing machine. During the past 2 loads there has been a notable water leak (significant puddling on the floor). I haven't witnessed the problem, but there is notable water around the lid (top loader) and down the sides. My gut response is that it may be leaking during a spin cycle. There seems to be quite a bit of "play" in the washer tub. Can you help?

I ran a load last night. Stopped it intermittantly to check inside. There was no sign of excess sudsing. There was no sign of water leakage until the final spin cycle - at which time a small amount of water droplets appeared from under the lid. Nearly all of the water leak (roughly 2 cups, slightly soapy) appeared from under the machine.

The play in the tub in normal, it sounds like you have an over sudsing issue, run an empty load with 3 cups of vinager in the tub, set the water temp to hot, cut way down on soap, if you use liquid dont even fill the cup 1/3 of the way, I know this sounds dumb but try it, I have one and this happened to me

How do I see what is causing my Fisher & Paykel EcoSmart washer to leak water?

If it is leaking when draining this would point to the main seal of the WATER PUMP. (Quite common for older machines.)
The pump can be easily removed by leaning the machine backwards, remove wires and see picture. NOTE: about half a litre of water will gush out so it is best to take machine outdoors. Go to a recycling centre or online auction for a replacement. They can be fiddly to replace.

My five yr old Fisher Paykel EcoSmart washer is dripping water into the tub when it is off. Is this hard to fix on this machine?

Hi just read your posting. The problem with your machine is a faulty water valve. Now there is 2 ways you can rectify this .The first and cheapest is to turn off the taps to the machine after use or the 2nd is to replace the faulty valve or valves.Hope this helps and please reply on how you got on and if you would like to change the faulty valve or valves.Looking forward to your reply.

Fisher Paykel Ecosmart washing machine spills water.

sometimes too much detergent, or extra cleaners like oxy clean) will cause lots of foam which will cause the water level sensor to misread, or foam over the top of the drum. if this is not the problem, you will have to tilt the machine on its side and look for loose or damaged hoses. the play in the tub will not cause leaking

Washer leaking from top

Sounds like it's plugged and the water is thrown by the centrifugal force. Sometimes stuff can get between the drum and tub, plugging the drain. This can be sporadic, sometimes no problem cuz the item is away from the drain hole during extract.
Sometimes minor partial disassembly will allow you to see between the drum and tub. A pick up tool can snag things down deep.
