Assuming the bid was on E-bay, you can find there 24-hour customer service number on there website. I had them cancel a bid for me a month ago when I bid on a 3TB hard drive thinking it was 4TB. It was a rather painless process. Just be sure you can tell them a good reason for canceling the bid.

How do I cancel bid on book on ebay

When you bid on eBay, it's a binding contract. You can't cancel.

Contacting the seller is your only hope.

How do I cancel a bid on ebay

There are two ways to cancel bids on eBay. The first is for the seller to cancel a bid made on their auction. The second is for buyers to cancel bids they made on other's auctions. Both come with very specific rules that prohibit any auction misconduct.
Canceling a bid made by someone else.
Review the reasons allowed for canceling a bid. Go to the cancellation page if the bidder is someone whose identity you have not been able to confirm.

You should also access this page if the bidder asks you to cancel the bid, or if the item being auctioned is no longer for sale. Fill out the cancellation form. Give the reason that the bid is being cancelled. Use the cancellation feature sparingly, as the cancellation and your reason for cancelling, will be recorded in the bid history. b> Canceling a bid made on someone else's auction. b> Use the bid retraction form to cancel a bid you have made. Make sure your bid meets the criteria for a retraction. Retract if the bid price you entered was wrong, and then correct the bid amount. Retract your bid if the auction description was changed and you no longer want the item as it is now described. Use the retraction form if you need the reach the seller for some reason and their contact information is invalid. Retract your bid that was made before the final 12 hours of the auction, as the option will not be available after that time. Retract bids made during the last 12 hours, only within an hour of the bid. Use the retraction feature as rarely as possible, as the number of times you have retracted a bid will appear on your feedback numbers. Hope this helps.

I recently placed a bid on a used wintec saddle.I then saw another saddle i liked better. So i placed a bid on that too.I want to cancel bidding on the first saddle cause i'm now the highest bidder on...

As per eBay and a general rule, based on your inquiry -you can't retract or cancel a bid. When you place a bid, you agree to pay for the item if you're the winning bidder. When you place a bid it is considered a contract, and you're obligated to purchase the item. The best way is to contact the seller thru email or sand a message as early as possible. Based on my experience sellers will work with you if you communicate with them openly and honestly.

Hope this helps.

Want to cancel my bid

Hi,

Please do the following
1 Use the bid retraction form to cancel a bid you have made. Make sure your bid meets the criteria for a retraction. Retract if the bid price you entered was wrong, and then correct the bid amount.

2 Retract your bid if the auction description was changed and you no longer want the item as it is now described. Use the retraction form if you need the reach the seller for some reason and their contact information is invalid

3 Retract your bid that was made before the final 12 hours of the auction, as the option will not be available after that time. Retract bids made during the last 12 hours, only within an hour of the bid

4 Use the retraction feature as rarely as possible, as the number of times you have retracted a bid will appear on your feedback numbers.

My daughter at claney8232 placed a bid for $10.00 and as she went to press . she pressed , instead which gave ortomatically submitted a bid of $1000.00 can we have this removed as our screen still shows...

You can withdraw a bid under certain circumstances.
From EBay page.... Find this in the EBay answer center, All about bidding,
...
However, honest mistakes sometimes occur. You can retract a bid if you have a valid reason for doing so as defined by eBay policy and you retract the bid within the required time period.

Valid reasons for retracting a bid include:

  • You accidentally entered the wrong bid amount. For example, you bid $99.50 instead of $9.95. If this happens, you need to reenter the correct bid amount right away.
  • The item's description changed significantly after you entered your last bid. For example, the seller updated the details about the item's features or condition.
  • You can't reach the seller by telephone or email.
Changing your mind is not a valid reason for retracting a bid. In the future, be sure to carefully review the listing before bidding.

Can i cancel or retract a bid as long as the bidding has not ended? if so, what is the procedure?

Yes, you can still retract a bid but only if there are still more than 12 hours left before the listing ends, if there's less than 12 hours you can no longer retract the bid but you need to contact the seller so that the seller can cancel the bid for you.

here's how you can retract your bid;

1. log in to your ebay account then click the site map and then scroll down and click bid retractions under Buying Resources on the left side.
2. then enter the item number in the box where it says "Item number of auction in question" and choose the reason, you can enter wrong amount.
3. then just click the retract bid button below

hope this helps.... please dont forget to rate! thanks!
