You can create a folder on the desktop that places files on the SD card. If you have the SS card installed, all videos should automatically go there, by default into the folder /Storage/
extSdCard/DCIM/Camera.
You do need to Mount and Format the SD card when you install it. The instructions for that are on page 121 of the user manual.

How do I move apps, pics, etc to SD card? Internal storage is full

For Android users, get the app Android Assistant and run it, use the Tools tab and choose the tool named "APP2SD" and choose an app from the list. When the app description appears, click on the STORAGE button and then click on CHANGE and click on SD to move the app from "Internal" to "SD card". Wait for the app to finish being moved, then back out to the list of apps that can still be moved to the SD card and do the next app. Be aware that when apps get updated, they will move back to the internal memory, so I usually check with APP2SD about once a week and move things as needed to my SD card. For space on my SD card, I chose a 128GB micro SD card and I've only filled it about 1/4th of the way over the past year. This is the safest way to move things because Android Assistant will only list the apps that can be safely moved to the SD card. Some built-in phone apps must stay on the phone's internal memory to keep working, and those cannot be moved and won't be shown by the APP2SD tool.
The Android Assistant also has a "Cache Clear" option on the Monitor tab that helps free up internal memory on your phone when you run it (cache clear). The app (Android Assistant) may tell you it needs access to stuff so it can clear the cache. Do what it says to give it access, then go back and tell it to clear cache and it will free up some more internal memory. Cache items will be refilled as and when each app gets used, so if memory runs short again, you might need to do this "as-needed".
I paid the cheap price for Android Assistant Pro so I wouldn't accidentally click on advertisements that pay for the free version. It find the app very helpful.
TIP: You can also set MANY apps to PUT their things directly to the SD card instead of internal memory! Yay! I did this with my camera app and it REALLY helps by having photos and videos sent directly to the SD card so I don't have to keep moving them around.

We have a lenovo tab2 A8, with a 64 GB microSD card installed. With both netflix & amazon prime video, in options, there is no selection to download to the SD card instead of the internal storage.

First, go to Settings > Storage and check if the "Default write disk" is set to "SD card". Then go to Settings > Apps and swipe to the left until you get to "SD card". Below will be all the Apps that can be be moved to the external SD card. Click in the box on the right and another page will come up. About in the middle of the page will be "MOVE TO SD CARD" tab. Tap on it and wait until it finishes. Then go back and pick another App to move. You should be able to download apps directly to the external SD card. I haven't done that on this device and not all apps will download to the external SD card (the app maker can restrict downloads to only the internal memory. This tablet is one of the rare few Android devices that allow moving Apps to external memory.

Not downloading to the sd card

If you are referring to apps you are downloading, that is probably correct. Most apps will not use the SD card to run (or load). It takes more programming for apps to use the SD card than not to, and since many users do not have an SD card installed, most apps won't use it. That is the falsehood that comes with tablets and eReaders. Users are led to believe that even though the tablet may not have a lot of internal memory that they can add an SD card. That works fine for personal files and photos, but not for apps and their data. Users need to know that if they want a lot of apps on their tablet, they need a tablet with a boatload of internal memory.

Internal memory running out despite internal SD card nearly empty.

You might try reformatting the SD card with a card reader connected to your PC. Also, your tablet has it's own memory limit, if you are saving stuff on the tablet memory instead of the external memory card you might be pushing into the tablet's limits. Get a handle of your memory limits by downloading ES File Explorer if you have an Android tablet to navigate internal and external memory.

Bought a 32GB sd card for Azpen A727 do not know how to transfer apps or downloads to card?

Although the Android phones and tablets can add (micro) SD cards, that will not extend the internal memory. You should see the SD card as a extra hard disk. Here you can hold pictures and music. As soon as you installed extra apps, and the phone or tablet is telling you the memory is full, you only can free memory, by deleting apps from the main memory.

If you thought I can buy a phone or tablet with less memory, because the SD cards are very cheap and will extend the internal memory, you thought wrong.

You can't transfer an app to the memory card and still use it as if it was in the main memory.
