Hi what kind of cord do I need to hook this camcorder up to the tv to play the videos on the tv? Thanks

Go on ebay and look, I have found every kind of conceivable cable on there.

have u checked to see if the camera is PAL or NTSC? If your TV is one and the camera is the Other, then chances are you will not get a picture.

Try hooking up your sony handycam to a different monitor or tv to make sure it is putting out a good video signal using an S-Video cable. Then once you know your cords are good and you have a good video signal, hook it back up to the RCA LCD unit. If it is still not working make sure that the RCA LCD is set to receive the Hi8 signal via the S-Video cable. There may be a switch or menu setting on your RCA LCD to accept the Hi8 signal or also refered to as S- Video.

For this camera you will need to find in your equipment (or purchase) a "stereo video cable "
This cord features a 1/8th (male) headset jack on one end and 3 male RCA jacks on the other. (yellow/red/white).

Plug the 1/8th jack into the camera's AV input and the RCA plugs into your TVs RCA port input and select the correct AV input (AV 1, 2, etc)on your tv selector and the camera should play through your tv.

The S-video cable carries picture only. You need to also hook up RCA audio cables from the camcorder to the TV

Hello there. The only way to hook up your camcorder to the tv is if you change the settings of your camcorder. Every camcorder has a different setting menu so you might just have to look it up in the manual. Or maybe your cables are not connected properly.

Please check your cords for continuity, try using another pair. If that doesnot work,try to hook it up with another sound system, like a receiver besides your TV.
This way you will able to narrow down if your camcorder audio output is defective. Good Luck.

Some of those av cords are wired for use on Apple computers and the leads into the mini jack are either reversed or they don't line up properly. The best way to get it fixed is to bring the camera into Radio Shack and test the correct cable that you need. You can order one from Canon usa website as well.

To get the USB connection to work requires software to run it. Pinnacle Studio works well with that.

had a similar problem a while ago, took the camcorder to repair. the problem was that the reading-head (the part that is incharge of reading the tapes) needed cleaning. i used a cleaning cassette - problem solved.
