Hi Jhonny does not appear to be anything you sugested to clarify turn machine on temperature at o degrees turn knob to any desired wash program (have tried them all) machine starts fills with water pauses then pumps out water and proceeds to the S on the program knob.Whilst in this position a dull sort knock appears to be comming from the motor or pump ?solenoid

are u sure its from the motor area? the pumo can also make a noise if it is obstructed but u say it is draining? so therefore THE DRIVE MOTOR- If the washer is making a loud noise the drive motor bearings may have worn out. Washer motors are normally almost silent when they run. If the motor is run without a belt hooked up to it and it's loud it will have to be replaced

  • Jorgie the appliance guy

If your washer has a loud banging noise during spin the balance weight may be loose. This weight is to counter act the weight of the motor so you will find the weight directly behind the motor. Sometimes simply tightening the bolts will fix your issue but if the bolts are stripped out get some bolts slightly longer than the original bolt to allow you to put a locking nut on the bottom side of the mounting plate. If the weight is broken replace it.

Washer fills with water then drains:
The critical question is. Is the water is just running down the drain but the pump isn't running. If it is being pumped out, and you can hear the pump running just the same as when it's emptying prior to spin then it could be aborting the wash because it is, or it thinks it's overheating. ( due to defective water temperature switch)

If water isn't being pumped out, but just draining away all the time, the washer will keep detecting there isn't enough water inside and top up with more. Modern washing machines should be sophisticated enough to realize something's wrong and abort with an error, but if not, it may continue washing or rinsing for a short while before losing enough water to trigger more coming in again. It can get stuck on this cycle indefinitely and it's called siphoning.
Siphoning occurs when the end of the drain hose is lower than the level of the water inside the washing machine. Try raising the hose and see what happens.
Also the drain hose should have some type of air gap where it fits into the stand pipe. It should not have an air tight fit.
Other switch's to check would be the water inlet valve and the water pressure switch with a multi meter for continuity or OHMS.

Washing machine makes clicking noise after filling up and wont spin. Kepps on clicking until i force shutdown, which then drains the water away.

hi, the problem you have is the motor carbons (brushes) have worn down ( which is natural if machine is used every day ). the machine fills up with water but there is no motor action. the clicking noise you are hearing is the relay on the pcb sending a signal to the motor to turn, but with the carbons worn, there is no motor action. Easy enough to replace them. UNPLUG machine before any repairs are carried out.

GE washer wont agitate or spin ?

This could be because the carbon brushes in your motor are worn down. One will need to check the motor to be sure.

The carbon brushes apply electricity to the motor via a split ring comutator.
Over a while the carbon dust can create a short circuit. The motor needs to be looked at and cleaned. Possibly may need to replace the brushes.

Take care!

WFD 2460 will not start wash cycle after it has filled with water

Isolate power and water supply and gain access to the main drum motor. Check for condition of carbon brushes by removing them and repla
ce if severely worn. Check wiring loom around motor and right back to module controller. The clicking is obviously power being supplied to motor via the loom to the motor. finally check for any dry solder joints or burnt areas on the circuit board controlling the motor.

Asko 620 not spinning and not agitating

Clean armature and replace brushes. When you remove the brushes the shut a small pin like device maybe protruding from the brush tip. this is a sure clue.
