Hello. To increase the memory of a Designjet 500 you will need to install an HPGL/2 card in one of the slots in the electronics module. Part number: C7772A. The HPGL/2 card has 16mb built in and a slot for another memory SIM. LPS sells the card with a 128mb SIM on board which will give the 500 a total memory of 150mb. According to the service manuals there is no memory upgrade for the 500 and standard memory is 16mb.. The 800 and 510 only have upgrade capability.
