As long as you can find a compatible out from the BR player to the dav there should be no problem. https://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DAV-DZ231

I had the same problem - Fix - Go to the sharp web site and download the file HP21U_HP50U_PN902270. You will need to make sure your thumb drive is no bigger than 4gb and you do not have any other files on it. Once you download the file on the thumb drive, you will need to unzip the file on the same thumb drive. The zip file is one of the new ones, so you might need to go to the web and get a shareware program that will open it. After this - turn your player on and go to setting, next scroll down to update firmware, insert the drive and tell it OK, it will ask you if this is OK, tell it OK and it will upgrade the firmware in about 2 min. I have already done this with 3 other players with no problem. Good luck. The sharp web site is sometimes a little hard to find and to me was not the most user friendly. good luck [email protected]

You will need the following:
1) Internet connection
2) Wired router
3) long enough ethernet cable to reach from your blue ray player to the router.
Step 1:
Eject any disks and turn off the blu-ray player by unplugging it.
Step 2:
Attach the ethernet cable to the router and the other end to the ethernet port on the back of the blu-ray player.
Step 3:
Turn on the blu-ray player and wait for it to load all the way.
Step 4:
Using the remote, arrow over to the left to "Setup", the up to "Network Update".
Step 5:
After the unit updates and restarts, repeat until it tells you "Already Updated".
That should help you play the newer movies, and even some of the older ones.

You will be prompted to save the UPDATE_BDPS300_VER0550.ISO file in a folder.
Most of the customers will be making mistake here after...
We need to use a burning software which is capable to burning discs from ISO images. ISO image is nothing but a RAW format of burned image.
I will give you the instructions to burn using Nero.. Steps will be almost same in all ISO capable software.
Open installed nero software from computer. You may locate it under Start Menu programs.
Go to File Menu (Some times you will get a wizard where you can select the Image Burning option or burn ISO option)
Navigate the extracted .ISO file we saved in the computer.
follow the onscreen instructions.
Insert the disc when ever Nero asked to insert
Hope this helps. If you need any assistance. Please get back to me. I will be more than happy to assist you. Thanks for understanding.

This worked for me, from a Sony Tech.
1) When SYS ERR is displayed turn off the player by holding down the power button until tghe unit turns off. 2) Unplug the power cord. 3) Wait a minute or so and plug the player back in. This reset the player for me.
