The toner light keeps blinking and I'm not sure why. We put a brand new cartridge in so that's not the issue. It will print from the computer that is hooked up to the printer, however not from the laptop that is connected through google cloud. Why does this happen? I've tried to unplug it, reset it, put new paper in. It will print the diagnostics and I'm not sure how to read them but it says the ink level is fine.

i am having the same problem and after looking it over, something is not feeding it thru the beginning of the paper starting in. if i pust 1 sheet down far enough to grab the paper it will print one page at a time. I have been unable to determine what is not feeding at the beginning yet.

Your Unisys UDS 25 is actually a Lexmark Optra T612. Are you using OEM cartridges or recharges? If you're using recharges, that would explain the print quality issues. Was it light with the first cartridge as well as the second? The drum "being on its way out" is a moot point since the drum is replaced when you replace the toner, it's all one cartridge. If you have another printer of the same model, try the cartridge in it and see if the problem follows. If it does, it's the cartridge, take it back and get an OEM one. If the problem does not, then you may need a new image transfer roller. Let me know what happens!

1- you either got a bad toner ( the chip on it is telling it it is bad) happens sometimes with recycled toners. Return it and tell them it is defective. The chip needs to be replaced. Try this but doubt it will work, open front door hold down go button, all lights will flash in sequence wait for it to stop turn off and on and close door.

Lexmark advertises the cartridges supplied with this printer as cart. #28 and #29. They claim these are nonrefillable. The refillable cartridges are #28a,29a, 34 and 35, the last two being the high yield carts. Make sure you have one of these.
SOURCE: computer says there is no ink cartridge
OK guys, I don't know if this will work for you but it worked for me. Here it is:
Now, the first thing the installer does is load the drivers to your hard drive.
4. When the driver is installed it will ask you what ink cartridges you have. Tell it which ones you have and say they are both brand new (even if one is empty or not new). If it asks you to align the printer or print a test page, say no!
After this is complete, the installer will begin to put in the other software (i.e. fax and scan). It will pause and ask you to click next, but do not do this.
5. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, select the installer task and click end task to stop the installation process.
6. When you print for the first time, it may ask you what cartridges you have installed again. Just select the cartridges you have installed select the option from the drop-down boxes that say that both cartridges are new.
--Hope it helps since it worked for me. Good Luck
After installing a new cartridge and the blinking light is on Toner Low, it means that the photoconductor is almost full and should be replaced soon. Press and release the Continue button (green button) to clear the light sequence and continue processing the print job. If the light is still blinking, replace the photoconductor kit.
