Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should troubles shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.
Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.

I have a Sylvania 55inch LED 4K TV Model SL551ANU that has sound but no image.

If your Sylvania 55-inch LED 4K TV has sound but no image, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the connections: Make sure that all the cables connecting your TV to other devices, such as cable boxes or gaming consoles, are properly plugged in and secured. If any cables are loose, reattach them and try turning on the TV again.
  2. Check the input source: Make sure that the TV is set to the correct input source. If you're not sure, cycle through the different input sources using the remote control to see if the image appears on any of them.
  3. Adjust the brightness: Sometimes, the brightness of the TV can be too low, making it appear as if there is no image. Use the remote control to adjust the brightness of the TV and see if the image appears.
  4. Perform a power cycle: Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This will reset the TV and may fix the issue.
  5. Contact the manufacturer: If none of these steps work, it may be a hardware issue. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician to diagnose and fix the issue.
It's important to note that attempting to fix the TV yourself may void the warranty or cause further damage.

Westinghouse WD55UW4620 no picture

Before you replace the power board, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue with your Westinghouse WD55UW4620 TV:
  1. Adjust the picture settings: It's possible that the picture settings on your TV have been accidentally adjusted, resulting in a dark picture. Try going into the TV's menu and adjusting the brightness, contrast, and other picture settings to see if that helps.
  2. Check the backlight: The backlight is responsible for illuminating the pixels on your TV screen, and if it's not working properly, it can result in a dark or dim picture. You can check the backlight by shining a flashlight on the screen and seeing if you can make out any images. If you can see images, then the backlight is likely the issue.
  3. Check the cables: Make sure that all the cables connecting your TV to external devices are securely plugged in and not damaged.
If none of these troubleshooting steps work, then it's possible that the power board is the issue. In that case, replacing the power board may fix the problem.

My flat screen tv has sound but no picture

Try a few simple things first to try and fix your TV before replacing parts...
1 - Unplug TV overnight. Plug back in and SOMETIMES it may work and fix your issue.
2 - Unplugging the TV and everything hooked to it, then plugging it back in may clear the problem.
3 - Be sure the TV is set to the correct input. If it is set to DVI or Component input when it should be in the HDMI input this will cause issues.
back-of-hdtv-inputs.jpgBack of HDTV inputs - Try another input if no picture
If the 3 quick fix checks above do not resolve your issue, try this:
Press the TV menu button. If no menu appears the problem could be a bad tcon display board or backlight inverter board. Turn off the room light and check TV for backlight glow. If it has a glow then the problem can be a loose tcon connection or bad tcon board. Check connections.

If it takes my LCD Westinghouse TV 20 min. to warm up then the picture is fine, do I need to replace the backlight inverter?

Did you fix the tv Patty? I have the same tv and when i turn it on, it screeches really bad, but after about 20 minutes or so, all is well. I don't think its a main board issue, but i already ordered and replaced the backlight inverter - that didn't solve the problem. I read somewhere that the power supply is what the problem is, but i just don't want to start buying all of these components as my trial and error. I bought a new tv to replace this one but it is no where near my Westinghouse. I love this tv more than my 55" LED Samsung in the family room!

Hello my tv don"t have

You have a blacklight inverter issue...or the power (24v) going to the backlight inverter is faulty. You need to open the tv (if you are comfortable with that) and look for popped capacitors...these are usually on the power supply and need replacement for the proper 24v to the backlight inverter.

Have sound but no picture

Hello,

If its not under warranty, pull the back cover and check the capacitors on the power supply. If there are any that are bulging or show signs of fluid leakage, replace them. If that doesn't fix your no picture but sound issue then you have a bigger problem. You can do it yourself pretty cheap and its not that hard. Just make sure you use the proper replacement capacitors.
But if otherwise
You most likely have a backlight issue with this TV set. Could be the inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power supply source for the backlights. there could also be a screen driver problem. This would entail changing the entire board.
Hope this help...
