Most likely your power distribution board. The board is probably in the range of about 70 dollars if available. You will first have to meter the board while powered and check all of the outputs. Most boards have printed on them what the expected output should be.
I would suggest trying to change the channel, either on the tv or the vcr. Sometimes, if the channel is one off, you will get sound but not a picture. On the back of the vcr, there SHOULD be a switch to change it to either channel 3 or channel 4. You must match this up with the channel your tv is set for.
I hope this helps, but if not, I hope you can get it figured out soon.
Good luck!

Which caps on which boards as that sounds like a issue with the signal and FMT PCB. The v26 chassis like yours has problems with bad caps on the DM, Signal, FMT and the PWB and terminal
Each set is somewhat unique in terms of parts, could you please update this with the model number. With that I should be able to rpovide you with details.
Thanks,
Dan
Try a reset frist by unplugging for 2 minutes then restart the TV. If you only paid $300 for the TV you will most likely pay more than that for repairs and parts to fix it otherwise.
