My 60 inch Pioneer elite plasma TV light blinks blue light blinks eight times what's the code pioneer is closed
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. This a factory issue and usually requires service. Most cases it is a bad power supply caused by a surge or powering off and on too fast ... sorry I wish I had better news

this is a power supply.. you have to replace the board to fix. price depends on model but on the old ones its $$
SOURCE: my 60''pioneer plasma blinks 12 times after i turn it on
looks like 12 blue blinks is a communication with the Digital tuner error. pioneer had a software upgrade/fix for this in some cases, others might need a new digital tuner pcb. I would unplug all power, wait 5 min, plug in (wait1 min) and try it again. If it is software, it should hopefully work. Make sure you pull your cable card if you have one. If it still won't turn on, you probably need the digital tuner board = $200-500 repair. Pioneer is usually very helpful, I'm really surprised they didn't help at all.. They'll want model #, serial # and date of purchase.
