These units use Hydraulic pumps for motivation. If the unit stopped all at one time, I suspect a drive belt came off.
For both pumps to fail at the same time would be very odd. Check the v-belt driving the wheel pumps.

Thank you so much! My John Deere zero turn suddenly wouldn’t move, and it was the belt!

SOURCE: moved mower out of shed to sharpen blades, moved

with out knowing the exact make and model my only suggestion is look for a lever on the back --usually on the rear right hand axle which disengages the drive some one may have moved the lever when the blades were getting sharpened.

I hope this helps

It will run backwards but not forward

If you are able to move in reverse but not forward, you need to adjust the levers. First you will need to elevate the rear wheels and set the neutral. This will then allow you to set the levers for proper forward and reverse movements.

Mower starts and runs but won't move forward or reverse and brakes don't work.

If your transmission is automatic on the drive axle, look for a small lever inside the frame and below the seat. It can be hard to find the first time. This lever disengages the drive inside the auto gearbox so the mower can be pushed by hand. If the lever is not not moved, pushing the mower also tries to turn over the engine making it impossible to move. With the lever moved accidentally the drive is disengaged and the mower won't move in either direction. The lever operates a flexible cable that comes out from the auto transmission.

Mower will not free wheel.brakes off and hydros released

You have to do one more thing to move this tractor without the motor running.
It takes two people to move the Revolution. One needs to sit on the seat and hold the forward pedal down. It will then freewheel.
So, brake off, both hydro release levers pulled (do NOT pull hard or you will break the springs) and the forward (right hand side, big pedal) pedal pushed down.
Any other question? I know this unit pretty well.

Will not move

The transmission is shot. A common problem. Mine died after 3 years and 200 hours of use. Estimate to fix was almost $2000. I scapped it and bought a better mower. There was a rtransmission design defect in the RZT series.

My bet would be a saftey switch. On most riding mowers there are several switches that must be actuated before it will start. First, make sure that blades are disengaged. If there is a handle that engages and disengages them, you might try holding it in the dis-engage position in case the switch is out of adjustment. There is probably one under the seat also. This switch kills everything if you are not sitting in the seat for safety reasons. Also, make sure the parking brake is set, and the gear is in neutral, and not forward or reverse.
Hope some of this helps.
