My Sprint Samsung Galaxy S model SPH-D700 or Epic won't start up(turn on). One day I was using it and then it froze, so I shut it down and after that it never turned back on. It'll charge while it's shut down(turned off) and the charging icon will appear, but it still won't turn on after it's fully charged. Help?
To reset the phone, it should be without power at all. So removing the battery, when the charger is connected, will not reset the phone. Then when the battery is dead, it could show up as if it is charged, because the voltage on the voltage sensor can become high enough, to indicate the battery is charged.
First, disconnect the charger, and remove the battery. Wait a few seconds and reinsert the battery. Try switching the phone on. If nothing happens, the most likely thing is you have a bad battery.
I hope there is no other issue.
Success.
Is there anything else that i can do? I was thinking of hooking it up to the computer and seeing if there are any files. And i was thinking of taking the phone apart andd seeing of i knocked anything loose. Do you think that any of those would work?
Thank you by the way.
Thank you by the way.
Today, I will try to find a solution you can use, if no one else already has an answer. Give me some time.
With this line in Google, I found really helpful tips, like some on YouTube, how to reset and even hard reset your phone. Use this : reset Samsung Galaxy S model SPH-D700 in Google. No need for me to type what you can see in less than one minute. Success.
I have already tried to hard reset the phone and I just tried again. Nothing happens. Thank you though for that suggestion.
Do you think putting the battery in the refrigerator will help to see if the battery is bad?
I don't think that will bring anything. Measuring the battery, with a multi meter could tell something of the condition, but nothing about the RI (internal resistance). The voltage on the battery should be a little higher than printed on the battery. Like a 3,7 volt battery, must be at least 3,8 or 3,9, when not connected. 3,7 or less is a bad battery. But then, when connected and the voltage drops half a volt, it is also a bad battery.
