First, check which input you have the TV set on. There may be an Input button on the side of the TV. (On the SLEDVD197, the button just below the DVD Eject button.) Just press Input and use the Channel Up/Down arrows to navigate the menu to change to the DVD. Press Input again to Enter the selected option.

With the TV in DVD mode, try pressing Play again. If you still have the error, check the region code for the disc. The "Operation not permitted" messages is usually that something on the disc is locked. Frequently, it's the result of using a different region code disc than the DVD player knows how to interpret. Try a different DVD.

If your TV doesn't have the Input button on the TV, you absolutely need a universal remote. However, you will want one that can match the TV/DVD button, the Input/Select button and the Menu button. Usually this requires a higher end remote; you also need a remote that was programmed at least 6 months after Sansui released the TV. If you do have the Input button on the TV, a universal remote may make using the TV easier.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: sansui VRDVD4000 format

I do not believe this player plays AVI videos, not to mention whatever codec you are trying to use.

Download VSO ConvertXtoDVD and convert your AVI files to DVD and then burn them to DVD-R (NOT DVD+R), the 4.7GB discs (single-layer).

This process takes a very long time, depending on the size of the movies you are converting, some 1-2 hours, some 8-24 hours.

I suggest buying a Philips DVD Player that plays DivX and XviD AVI files, they seem to be the best. You can just burn the AVI to any disc and it will play. [Most popular seems to be Philips DVP 642]

Cheers.

SOURCE: No Disk

When I try to play a DVD, operation seems normal, the unit makes a slight noise like the disk is rotating and "Loading" is displayed. Then after about 30 seconds the message "No Disk" is displayed. Then just the Polaroid screen is displayed. I have lost the remote control but surely the unit will play using the front panel buttons. One thing, only the remote is named as having a Setup Button in the manual but the unit has no such button.

Hi, My Samsung DVD player remote would not respond when power button pushed on. When DVD power turned on Manually and DVD loaded the remote would not respond to the play, arrow buttons eirther?? My LG...

If the buttons on the case are working but the buttons on the remote don't then it's clearly a fault with the remote.
Each button in the remote is made out of 2 wires on the electronics board that are joined by a small patch of conductive paint situated on the rear of the rubber button. If something gets in there, like water or dirt or the patch flakes out, the contact is no longer made and the button no longer works. The remote will have to be dismantled by popping the clips on the periphery with a sharp tool, the rubber strip holding the buttons will have to be washed and the board wiped clean. If the buttons still don't work after that then the remote is dead, you will have to get another one.

I have lost my remote for my sansui tvm1916a and i want to still use my dvd player, how do i change the imput? pushing the two buttons at once brings up a menu but input isnt an option

Hi,

If your DVD player is connected to your TV with a SCART cable, your TV should switch to DVD input when you insert a DVD and press' Play'. If you are connected with a standard co-axial aerial cable (fly lead) this wont work and you will need to buy a SCART cable (or new remote) if you wish to continue using your DVD player with this TV.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Sansui DVD/VCR remote control issue, VCR works/DVD does not-black

There should be a DVD/VCR button on the remote control which will toggle the machine from one playback source to another. If she has pressed the VCR button then the machine will only playback tapes & not show DVD's. Press this button & the DVD's should play. If you look closely at the front window of the machine it will show what mode it is in ie VCR or DVD, set this for the DVD to get it to play.

Solutions to incorrect disk error c105 & c104

Hello gjbrokke,

First make sure the disc is compatible with the dvd player (CD-R+ , or CD-R - )

Second make sure the region code of the dvd you burned is compatible with the dvd region settings on your dvd player.

One of those two are preventing the disc from playing in your sansui player.

Vcr to dvd recording

As i recall, +r's will only format in dvd vr, the unit does not like high speed recording disks. switch to dvd drive - insert blank disk - if no format screen - goto (on remote) setup - onscreen menu - system setup - disc setup - new disk format - hit center button in ring on remote to change to vr or move up to reformat as vr. once disk is formatted, use record speed button on remote to set record speed 1,2,4,6 hr then switch to tape deck with tape in and stopped at begining, on remote hit dubbing, it will ask you confirm dubbing vhs-dvd .... toggle over to yes & hit center button... away you should go... c245 is a copyguarded tape.

Can't get dvd out

Search your manual for "manual open", or some override. Sometimes there is a hole in the bottom of the player that lets you slide a knife in a push the door open a little bit. Should have something written on it, like "emmergency". I can't say it will work after that though. Sansui no longer makes most of the products marked "sansui", they sold the rights to use the brand name. I think orion makes it's basic level TV and Video equipment, and they tend to break after you take a few steps out of the store. Hope it works out for you.
