LifehackerJul 15, 2011 - Cell phones and smartphones will differ in the menu options and buttons, but in general, the process of sending a text message to someone else's phone is pretty straightforward. From your phone's main menu find the "Messages" or "Messaging" option or application. Then select "Text Message" or "Text Messaging."
WISC?TVFeb 28, 2009 - Go to phone's main "Menu" and select "Messaging" option. 2. Select "Text Messages" (some might see "Send SMS") and then select "Write message." 3
Workaround procedure to get this to work
1. Go to BBC1.
2. Go to the Guide and select channel 200 - BBC Red Button. Press OK.
3. Exit the Guide and wait. You should see a notice about the BBC Red Button Service. Wait a few seconds.
4. Press the RED button - the display switches to BBC1 and shows the standard (Text) Red Button Index.
5. Press the BLUE button to close the Index. The display shows the BBC1 video and sound.
6. Press the RED button to get into the Red Button Menu.
7. Wait a few seconds and then select the BBC iPlayer.
I gained access to the iPlayer once this way yesterday and twice so far today but when I went straight to the iPlayer from BBC1 I lost the sound.
I've just shutdown and then re-started the HD500 and successfully accessed the iPlayer using the above method.
Note, that if it doesn't work then just switch your box into standby, wait 15 minutes or until the Hard Disk stops and then you can switch it on again. No mains power-off or reset is required.
You have been hacked upon opening the text message. The SMS hack just recently spreading on the net and is still on the loose. It is also known only to occur on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. For now, there is no workaround for this bug, unless you do a hard reset. http://mobile.informationweek.com/80256/show/721eaaa06c8f327f75d39bef398abb07/
I have exactly the same problem, same error message. I first noticed the problem yesterday (September 11). Error message appears when trying to watch live TV through iPlayer. BBC News Channel works OK from BBC News website. Live sports broadcasts work OK through BBC Sport website. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player but it made no difference.
The box is probably because you have closed-captioning turned on and set to "text" mode. Check the TV remote control for a button marked "CC" or "CAPTION" or something similar. Press the button to cycle through captioning options until you get to "OFF". This should clear up the trouble.
What's happening is that in text mode, the TV blanks out the area on the screen where the text should go, but there's nothing to display. Text mode isn't widely used, but in some markets it's used to display weather or other information. What sometimes happens is that the caption button on the remote gets pressed and you don't know the TV is set to text mode until the box starts coming up. And it doesn't happen on every channel, or even all the time on the same channel, so it can seem very random.
Recheck wiring, might have bad or lose wires?Unplug the tv and satellite box.Replug it both devices back in about an hour later.Let the tv reset itself. The satellite box to update it software. The problems, should be solved.
You can download the user manual here. http://www.retrevo.com/support/Toshiba-57H84-TVs-manual/id/311ag813/t/2/ The closed caption feature has two options: • Captions—An on-screen display of the dialogue, narration, and sound effects of TV programs and videos that are closed captioned (usually marked as “CC” in TV listings). • Text—An on-screen display of information not related to the current program, such as weather or stock data (when provided by individual stations). To view captions or text: 1. Tune the TV to the desired program. 2.Press MENU, and then press x or • to display CUSTOM menu. 3. Press y or z to highlight CC, and then press ENTER. 4. Press y or z to highlight CAPTION or TEXT, and then press Enter. To turn off the Closed Caption feature: Highlight OFF in step 4.
This is a rather awkward procedure but it will allow you to keep a copy of your text messages on the Centro. Ready? Here it is:
A). In Text Messages •Open the text you want copied •Select all of the characters in the message by slowly dragging the stylus from the upper left hand character to the bottom of the text message. •While the text is highlighted, press the menu button (at the bottom right-hand corner) •Select Edit in the Menu. •Select Copy in the Menu. (text is now copied to the clipboard)
B). In Memos •Press the home key •Go to the Main category (Main showing in the top drop-down list) •Tap on Memos •Tap the New button at the bottom of screen •Press the menu button (at the bottom right-hand corner) •Select Edit in the Menu. •Select Paste in the Menu. (text is now saved in the memo file)
•Repeat the above procedure (A & B) for each text message you want to save. *Each text can be appended in the same memo or saved in a different memo*

Sounds like you haven't retuned the set correctly. Use the factory settings/ default setting if poss. Look out for too much signal if you are on a booster.
Without being there it is difficult to be 100 percent accurate but it sounds as if the receiver is on the way out. I have never seen this problem first hand and all my investigations into this receiver type has resulted in your issue being an anomaly as the software has know known issues nor does the receiver itself with the video issue you described.
