Your note book has a serial port at either of the sides or at the back just below the screen. It is rectangular in shape.
The cable from your external monitor will fit in to this port perfectly. connect it and power your monitor and Notebook. You should get a display on your external monitor.
Unfortunately your video card on the M55 is part of the motherboard itself...it is an integrated chip. You would have to take it to a repair shop that has the machine capable of desoldering all the connections and resoldering a new graphics chip to the board. Buying a new motherboard may end up cheaper in the long run, but I have seen repair adds on EBay from companies that specialize in these types of repairs. Give it a look and see what you think.
dont know what processor you have. If you have a celeron M you can probably upgrade to a pentium M without any problem. The ram you should check. I believe that motherboard will only support 1.5 gb. Any more you will be waisting your money.
When the AC adapter is plugged to the wall, if it has an LED make sure it is on, remove the battery and connect the adapter to the laptop, does it power up?
Install the battery after charging, see if your laptop powers up.
If the laptop does not power up, the motherboard needs replacing.
I hope this helps to resolve your issue.
Good Luck.
Go to the following site. 1. Choose Category = Portables 2. Choose Family = Satellite 3. Choose Model = M55-135
Filter on Lan and the drivers come up for XP If this doesn't work list the detail specs from the device manager on the specific component you want and it can be found.
A tough one. Have you gotten an estimate for an independent computer repair place? I don't think hard drives last all that long and
the monitors seem to have a high failer rate also. Unless you could get it done for a total of abotu $200 , I would not do it. My thought only.
