My pool is 33x18 48 inches deep i am down 21 inches how many gallons would that be to fill it up..oval pool

What you looking to know?

Square feet suggests a flat area, like the floor plan of the pool, which would be 16 x 32 = 512 square feet. Like you'd measure walls for tiles or paper etc.

As you've given 3 dimensions, sounds like your after the cubic capacity/volume of the pool, in which case your looking at cubic feet (same as flat area above, but with the added depth to go from flat 2d, to 3d (2 vs 3 dimensions)), which would be 16 x 32 x 10 = 5,120 cubic feet.

not possible to calculate with the information provided. here is a basic formula to get you close.
length x width x average depth x height in feet x 7.5 gallons / cubic ft

18,600 gallons (length x width x depthx 7.51 =gallons)

What you appear to be asking is the volume of your Pool in gallons! Here is the formula and resulting answer:

Length X Width X average Depth X 7.5 (for rectangluar) (or 5.9 for a circle or oval)

You need to know 3 values:

The overall length in feet (assuming 42 on your note)
The overall Width in feet (assuming 16 on your note)
The average depth, take a depth measurement at 3-4 locations equally apart along the length from deep to shallow (or vice-versa) (example might 8ft, 6ft, 4ft, 3ft) add these measurements together and then divide the total sum by the number of depth measurements (example 4) this will be the average (example 5.25)

So the resulting formula would read 42 x 16 x 5.25 x 7.5 = 26,460 gallons for the example

So if your pool's average depth is about the same, then your volume is rounded to about 26,500

Your shock product should clearly state how much one bag will treat a given volume (example 10,000 gals) for regular treatment or shocking. Usually shocking involves doubling or even tripling the normal maintenance dosage, but check the product labels and instructions for manufacturer's recommendation.

Depends ... 15 feet round? 36 inches deep? = 3976 gallons

15 feet by 36 feet rectangle, how deep? if 5 feet deep = 20,250 gallons

32' round by how deep? Flow rate is how you size a filter so with total gallons you can calculate how many per minute will add up to the whole pool being turned over is 6-8 hours. The pump and filter are then sized for that required flow...Assuming the pool is an above ground ~4' average depth then total gallons would be about 24,000 gallons. For an 8 hour turnover you would need about 50 gallons per minute. The 210T, T for top mount, is designed to handle up to 44 gallons per minute and turn over a 21,000 gallon pool in 8 hours or a 26,000 gallon pool in 10.

What that basically means is that using a 210 on a pool 32 x 4 would be pushing it. It will work but you will end up backwashing more frequently which raises the overall cost of running the pool. If it is not to late a 24" filter would be better; especially if you have periods of time in your pool season where heavy amounts of debris such as pollen get into the water. A 21" filter won't handle any over a normal filtration load.

It will hold ~1175 gallons assuming it is filled to 24" deep. The formula is pi x radius x radius x depth x 7.48.

This blog has information about sinking an above ground pool. It is normally recommended that you do not sink the pool entirely into the ground becuase of pressure concerns and the risk of collapse. Generally, you leave 1-3 feet of the pool above the ground and install a deck or similar feature to make the pool appear to be in the ground. The type of pool liner that you have (expandable) is best for this practice, but it can be done with overlap or regular beaded liners also.
