I have amazon prime and the directions at the page where it describes kindle owners lending library. It says visit kindle store and browse books. Says lending library is I'D'ed by the prime logo. I see that the borrow for free is enabled. But. Do not see any tap able borrow for free hypertext.
I have an account with "bookbub" - they allow you to borrow for an indefinite amount of time for free or for a cost, they also link you to the Amazon site for the same deal. They may not always have the book you want at that time!
Jeff Bezos thanks you for the contribution to his billions.

Ok, this seems to be a very unique problem indeed, all i can think of is Ports, perhaps you need to open. forward certain Ports from your Router to your Kindle?
I would also look at your Firewall and see if that's stopping anything, really this is all i can think of?
Or perhaps you need to factory rest and then try to set it all up from New with your network First, and see if that makes any difference.

on the bottom of the unit is a small hole for resetting the unit. Take your stylus, unscrew the pointer end and use the smaller end of it to press into the reset hole. Let the reader reset and you should have your books. Kindle has had this issue for some time with the reader that came with the free ebooks. The solution was a simple one to fix.

Hold the power button to the right for 30 seconds. (Time them- not "One thousand one, one thousand two, ect." because this isn't precise enough.) This will reboot the Kindle and it should work. The reboot may take a while if it has been a long time since your last reboot.
