These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. The N611 will flash 3 times as an AC heater fault. If your AC heaters are ohming out properly (48 ohms of resistance), then you have a bad power board. If the AC heaters are not showing around 48 ohms of resistance, replace the AC heater. It's going to be one of the two. Here is an article on it:

MY 42 in ultravision will not power up. The red stdby light is on but when turned on it does nothing. Just stays in stdby mode. Any suggestions? Power supply, fuse, etc...

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.

No video, Power light is on or blinking.
TV is making a clicking noise.
TV takes a while to come on
Screen is very dim or flickers.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

I have a pioneer plasma tv about 2 yrs old.It goes to standby mode every 30-40 min.Even when shut off it will return to stdby???Thanks

check batteries on ur remote even hide it in other room/if not it could be power supply over heats it
will shut down/another thing go to menu reset to factory default.

My emerson tv standby light is on the power light flashes twice

Mine stayed in stanby mode and all I had to do was to switch the plug to a different outlet. The power strip it was on wasn't providing enough power. It worked fine for a month before I had a problem.

Black Screen / Computer Stays in Standby Mode

Completely remove the battery and unplug the power cord for a few minutes. Reinsert battery and power up. You can also hit F8 when starting and see if you can boot into safe mode.
