Keeps turning off-Philips 50PF9431D

Hi,
I was hoping to get some insight on a problem I'm having with my plasma HDTV. My TV keeps shutting off, turning off by itself. The green light turns to red and the only way to turn back on is to unplug and plug back in. Every couple of minutes it will turn back off. Does this sound familiar to you? Thanks.

Having same problem as jboom23. TV turns on, then the little indicator light goes red, like it is turned off.

Screen keeps displaying menu options when that button is not being pressed on remote have to turn off tv to get back to regular viewing or game playing what is making this screen keep appearing

Hi. I suspect that the remote may be the cause. Remove batteries from the remote and see if the menu appears. If it dosent, I suspect the remote may have had something spilt over it and needs to be cleaned out. Hope this helps you out.

From 1 to 10 ten been the best how good are this tv 55PP9363H/17 1 TOSHIBA 6211M15 1 SONY KFSOWE620 1 MAXENT MX26X3 1 SAMSUNG LN32BS40P8D 1 MAXENT MX26X3 1 MAXENT MX42XM11 1 SONY KDLS2VLISO...

The Samsung LN40B540P8F I would rate a 9. Only God is 10.

All the DLP sets, you can throw out

All the Older Projection sets you can throw out

I would take the rest for scrap parts.

I hope this is helpful.

MENU KEEPS POPPING UP

It's a software problem with the TV. Go to the PHILIPS web site for downloading the latest software upgrade for your TV to fix the problem.
Lots of Philips TV are having the same problem. Philips support should provide the software for free.

FUSE KEEPS BLOWING WHEN POWERING ON

I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung. Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. It will be the PCB in the center of the set just above the Video/Audio connections. http://www.shopjimmy.com/power-supply-unit-lj44-00118a-from-philips-50mf231d-40.htm. Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the location of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check a Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. Part # http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=493-1754-ND. Total cost was $7 with S/H.

Tele will not stay on

The tv has an error code thats its way of telling you there is something wrong so it shuts itself down to protect itself. I would have it looked at or call philips and they can tell you what that means. hope that helps.

LG 50" plasma tv

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
