hi it sounds like your plasma has gone in stand by mode look on youtube will tell you all about stand by type in how to fix and tv make model stuck in stand by more than likely capacitors blown if your not any good soldering boards id phone tv guy out but if you are then youtube it hope this hopes

Its the power pack located inside the TV, it needs replaced. contact manufacturer for parts or service.

Hi. I suspect that the remote may be the cause. Remove batteries from the remote and see if the menu appears. If it dosent, I suspect the remote may have had something spilt over it and needs to be cleaned out. Hope this helps you out.

I would take the rest for scrap parts.

It's a software problem with the TV. Go to the PHILIPS web site for downloading the latest software upgrade for your TV to fix the problem.
Lots of Philips TV are having the same problem. Philips support should provide the software for free.

I think you have to replace the power supply board.

I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung. Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. Make a note of the location of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check a Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. The tv has an error code thats its way of telling you there is something wrong so it shuts itself down to protect itself. I would have it looked at or call philips and they can tell you what that means. hope that helps.

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
