The screen went dark on our year and a half old LG LED 50 flat screen. Sound works, can see screen when you shine a flash light on it. Replaced the power supply/LED board on it and it didn't fix it. Model # 50LN5100. Service code: 50LN5100-UB.BUSYLJR, what part should I replace now?

The blinking red light signals the fact that the power source is in protected mode - it's fully functional (as the green light also shows) but has been shut down by it protection system.
The protection system of the source is engaged when 2 things happen: either there's a short on one of it outputs (you will have to test the output voltages to identify the failing board and from there if the board can be repaired - start with the inverter) or if the processor can't load the firmware - this is almost always caused by a hardware failure of the processor and in that case the mainboard will have to be replaced.
In that case it will cost you around $200 to get a replacement board, plus the labor. Now you must decide if the tv is worth that amount of money - in my opinion it doesn't.

Try the old flashlight test, turn off the lights in the room. Turn on the set and flash a bright flashlight on the screen. Do you see the image or is the screen totally black?? If you see the image, then most likely you have a backlight problem. Verify that you have 24V on the power supply for the inverter
does the screen totally black or with only white screen?. recheck all the connections going to t-con board and x board which you missed.
