How did Neptune get its name and who named it
When discovered in 1846 by Le Verrier, he sought to name the planet after himself. However other influential figures in astronomy proposed 'Neptune' after the Roman god of the sea. This was in line with the then current practice of naming planets after Roman and Greek deities.
At least they did not try to name it after some king or queen, like Uranus which was nearly named planet George, after King George III.
