If you can't see a faint picture with the flashlight then the T-con board is gone. If you can see a faint picture, then the led driver or ballasts for the back lights quit. You can get parts from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy
try changing the back light inverter that's what light the screen some sets have separate back light inverter while some comes in he power supply...good luck
10 to 1 its the power supply. Remove all screws from rear panel - locate power supply - check for busted/bulged/expanded caps if you see any and if you have component level repair experience replace them. If not find the part number of the power supply and order another one - or you could send me the power supply and I could fix it for you. If that is what you want to do reply here and I'll give you my email/street address and phone numbers to assist you.
The power supply (AC adapter) is bad. It has enough power to light the red LED, but not enough to power the TV.http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=12+volt+5+amp+power+supply&_sacat=See-All-Categories
Remove the rear panel. With the TV on you should see a red LED near the center of the PCB. There should also be 5 green leds, 3 to the left a 2 behind. If there is no red leds, check the fuses. If there are no green leds or maybe 1 or 2, disconect PSD5. It's a connector on the left side of the power board that connects to the audio board. It's the 3rd on fro the back. It's labled. With that disconected, turn on the set and look for the green leds. If all 5 light, the power supply is OK and you have a problem beyond that. If they don't all light you have a bad power supply.

The SONY Owner's Manual for the KDS55A2000 does not state what the 4 times blinking Power LED means.
However, my Sony Extended Care Service support insists that the projection lamp is the cause for the 4X blinking LED Power light.
I do not agree but am forced to buy a replacement lamp (not cheap) to prove that the problem is probably the fan, as the TV Technician states elsewhere in these FixYa support questions and answer
