I have an Acer Travelmate 290 laptop. It beeps every 15 seconds when the battery is low. It also beeps every 2 seconds when the AC adaptor is connected. Once it has loaded windows it stops (unless it is in safe mode).
Apart from this it works fine. The problem is that the beeping is driving me nuts.
I don't really want to cut the speaker cable (for the internal speaker) but I don't know what else I can do.
Any ideas?

The beeping happens in safe mode and during boot - it is not a windows settings issue. In fact as mentioned above when windows fully loads the beeping seems to stop.
I discovered that it uses the stereo speakers so if I connect headphones the sound is redirected to those. Not really a solution but it at least stops me going crazy while I look for a better solution.
