What is the likely cause of the left half of a led tv being dark compared to the right half? The pictures is there but it seems the backlight has gone out.

I replaced the backlight inverter board but the problem is still there.

It has to be the backlight then. It can be repaired, but opening the LED panel is quite tricky and risky job.

That could be a number of things. Possible ribbon cable loose or sweep or memory board faulty. Also I would not rule out a break on the screen. Good luck

even if you changed the back light inverter the fault remain as same, it seems to be the back light LED is damaged carefully remove the outer frame of the panel then dis connect the LCD then remove the frame of the defuser screen , take out plug your TV, check the LEDs

Hi Stephen,
This is a case of backlight failure. Some of the LEDs in the backlight array have failed and causing this trouble. To repair it the LCD panel has to be opened and I am sorry You can not do anything about it yourself, because it is a highly delicate job and needs a fair degree of expertise. You will have to handover the job to some good local TV Tech.

-One side of the picture is darker than the other
-Picture has horizontal line(s)

I didn't look up the model to see if its a LCD or LED, if its an LED it sounds like you have some lamps going out, try turning down the backlight settings and see if that helps
