Without more information, I can only give you some simple checks.

First check your fuses located near the input of your power cord. check for a blown fuse.

second, the power switch itself may be damaged, you will more than likely need an appliance technician to check that.


third, the monitor may have just quit working all together.


it would be best if you are not comfortable with checking these things yourself, to take to a repair person.

Can one purchase a longer lead from power to television than normally supplied

Just purchase a mains power extension lead from any hardware store in the size you want. They usually start at about 3metres and go up in length from there.
Plug the extension lead into the power point and the power lead from the TV into the other end of the extension lead and there is your longer power lead.

Oven shows F2 fault several times a week. The oven is less than a year old and we keep it very clean.

F2 EO Shorted keypad/

TV Picture No Longer Comes On

Sounds like one or multiple Reservoir Capacitors in the Power Supply were starting to dry up. You also get problems like this from dry joints in the Power Supply. You need a technician to take a look for certain.
