Since this set like all others with the "child lock" require a code to be entered and the remote is what is used, I would say it cannot be done without the correct remote and the password.

No, I 'm afraid not my friend. Maybe you have a friend or someone you know who has a Philips or Magnavox remote control so you can unlock your set.
Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711, although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To use it hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it says it is incorrect.

After you set the lock, you must use your pass code

to view a locked program, view the locked TV, view

a locked channel, cancel the lock, or enter the Lock

menus.

If you forget your pass code, you can view the locked

TV without entering your pass code. When you are

prompted for your pass code, press the number 9 and

QV keys on the TV remote control at the same time. This

process temporarily unlocks the TV.

When entering the Lock menu, this process deletes

your old pass code and prompts you to enter a new

pass code.

• You can either enter a new pass code to open the

Lock menu and make changes or press EXIT to close

the menu.

• If any of the locks are turned on and you exit the

menus when prompted for a new code, the old

code and all lock settings are retained.

If you are referring to a parental block you are able to over ride that. It usually requires having the access code that came with your set and the original remote control. The universals won't normally allow access to the menus required.

I suspect that you may have the ability to do that from the front panel also. You will find that information in the owners manual... You will need to contact the manufacturer online to see if an owners manual is available online. Most of them are if the set is new enough. You will need the complete model number from the back of the set for that.

This is assuming that there is not a defect in the television itself that is always a possibility but less likely than it's a parental block situation and you will need the specific access code to override that.

Bypassing the V-ChipLock
After you set the lock, you need your passcode to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus. If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. When your password is requested, press the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote TV control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks the TV. When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode.
When changing or deleting your passcode, you must use the remote control included with this TV. You cannot use any Mitsubishi remote control from another component or a "universal" remote.
