Are you sure your camer supports 8 Mb? Check your manual. If you don't have one, download it:

If it is supposet to support 8Gb SC cards, get a microSD card USB reader and insert it in the computer. Can you ree it as Remvoabvle disk?
It the computer won'r recognize your card, it is BAD.
If you can see it, try to format it to FAT32
Again, if can't, card is BAD

if your SD Card is not write protected and you wont able to format it a virus may have mess with your memory card. Format it in safe mode or you can try a formatting utility that you can use. You can download it on the link below:

I got the e327 photosmart, and I jsut put in the 8gb sd card in the camera. Does not work. It wont even let me format the card at all. The screen turns on but I cant even take a picture. Can this camera...

The E327 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it's electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed to accept SDHC cards. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I just inserted a 8 MB card in and the camera says "Memory card needs formatting" I click continue, then it says "Formatting will delete everything on the memory card", no problem, it's a new card so I...

8MB or 8GB? If it's actually an 8MB card, you'll be able to put maybe two or three pictures on it, so I'll assume it's an 8GB card.

The DX4530 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, there are electronic difference that prevent them from working there. SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I recently purchased a 8gb sd card and when i put it in the camera it says it needs to be formatted. Thats fine i go to format it and nothing...i refuses to fomat it so i tryed using my pc to do it but...

Most likely your camera is designed to work with SD cards. The 8GB card you have is NOT an SD card, but actually an SDHC card.

If this is not the case, would you care to post the make and model of your camera in a comment to this post?

Why cant i put a 8gb sd card in it? it wont take anything other than the 1gb sd card it came with

Most likely you can put in a 2 GB standard SD card. The 8GB is an SDHC which is a new format. Devices older than a few years usually cannot read the new format. However, it is possible that even a 2GB card wouldn't be support, though unlikely. You might want to try http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134127&cm_re=2GB_SD-_-20-134-127-_-Product ... for $10 it is worth a shot, and it is likely to work.

I hope this is helpful, and if so please rate my answer as such if you would please. If you have additional questions feel free to post them here and I will do my best to answer them as quickly as possible. Thank you.

8gb PNY micro sd card isn't recognized in my samsung Alias

If the phone failed to format the SD card, try to format it through your computer. Connect the phone through the USB port located at the back of the tower. You'll be prompted that the PC detected 2 USB drives, the phone and the SD card. You will see it by going to My Computer folder. From there, right click the Letter drive represents the SD drive then select Format. I hope this helps.

Formatting issue

The memory might be able to be saved. but if you have attempted to format it most likely the data is gone because that is what formating does. Now you can get an 8GB Micro SD for about 15$ so I would buy a couple and always back up important data daily. Thanks,
